Education is often affected by circumstances beyond the control of rights-holders, for example emergencies such as armed conflict and natural disasters. Such situations make it difficult for the right to education to be protected and enjoyed, particulalrly of already marginalised groups.
Currently our list of indicators does not have specific indicators on monitoring the right to education of marginalised groups in emergencies (armed conflict or natural disasters). We will be addressing this gap in the near future.
In addition, different contexts, particularly armed conflict, engage additional regimes of international law - so when using these indicators please check the relevant international standards for each indicator.
