Day of the Girl 2017

October 11 is celebrated as the Day of the Girl. This day recognizes those fighting for gender justice and youth rights. We want to recognize the women in our program, who started as girls, who have been driven to get a higher education and to be involved in their community to help other girls and women. Some of the women are focusing specifically on these issues like Sabina who is in her second year at Egerton University pursuing a Bachelor degree in Gender Studies. She has joined the gender league at her school which visits secondary schools to talk to and mentor the students.
